A CNN investigation into a deadly incident near an aid distribution site in southern Gaza on Sunday points to the Israeli military opening fire on crowds of Palestinians as they tried to make their way to the fenced enclosure to get food.

Shootings have erupted nearly daily since last week in the Gaza Strip in the vicinity of new hubs where desperate Palestinians are being directed to collect food.

After three consecutive days of violence, aid has been paused in Gaza, the U.S. and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation announced. Dozens have been killed while trying to pick up food at a designated checkpoint.
