Investors were focused on President Trump's tariff policy on Thursday as the president unveiled plans for new chips tariffs that included exemptions for companies building in the U.S., or that have committed to build.

According to a White House official, Apple will announce a new $100 billion commitment in the U.S., an acceleration of its U.S. investment that now totals $600 billion over the next four years.
