Federal agents on Tuesday searched the Washington-area offices of Carahsoft Technology Corp., a major distributor of information technology products to government agencies, according to people familiar with the matter.

Carahsoft confirmed the DOJ was at its office Tuesday “conducting an investigation” related to a company it’s done business with in the past.

The FBI raided the Reston, Virginia headquarters of IT, software and cybersecurity services provider Carahsoft Technology Corp. on Tuesday, according to two people familiar with the matter. The raid was conducted sometime Tuesday morning, said one of the people, who asked not to be identified due to the matter’s sensitivity.

John Weiler, head of the nonprofit Information Technology Acquisition Advisory Council (IT-AAC), told The Register the FBI and the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) had agents on-site at the business's Sunset Hills Road headquarters in Reston, Virginia.
