An AccuWeather Alert was in effect Wednesday for much of the Chicago area with strong storms in the forecast. While they were fast-moving, high winds left trees and power lines scattered across parts of Northwest Indiana.

Wednesday night's game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of split doubleheader on Monday, Aug. 18.
