A Detroit man accused of a crash last weekend that left an off-duty city police officer dead has been charged, officials said. Dayjon Antwian Macon, 28, was arraigned Thursday through 36th District Court in Detroit, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said.

DETROIT, MI – A Detroit police officer finished his shift and was headed home when he was killed in a hit-and-run crash on the city’s East Side. Officer Cameron Richardson died in a collision just after midnight Sunday, Jan. 5, near Hoover and Greiner streets, Detroit Interim Police Chief Todd Bettison said.

Dontae Smith has pleaded guilty to the shooting spree he committed in August of that year, when he was 19 years old. The shootings took place in the area of Wyoming, near 7 Mile, in the early hours of Aug.

Jarvis Butts, 42, of Detroit, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder, second-degree criminal sexual conduct and child sexually abusive activity. Butts is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with Na'Ziyah.
