Troubles are deepening for Hartford’s CityPlace I as creditors seek the appointment of a receiver to take control of the city’s tallest office tower, the latest fallout from the pandemic after which businesses didn’t need as much office space because their employees were spending more time working from home.

City firefighters are working to put out a fire at a structure on Tower Avenue Tuesday evening, a fire official said. Hartford District Chief Mario Oquendo Jr. said just after 10 p.m. that no additional information was immediately available.

Crews responded to a two alarm structure fire in Hartford Tuesday evening. Officials say that the blaze broke out in the area of Tower Avenue. No further information was available.
