India's HDFC Bank on Wednesday reported third-quarter profit largely in-line with analysts' estimates, helped by an increase in net interest income (NII). The country's biggest private lender posted a standalone net profit of 167.

Results: HDFC Bank, India's largest private lender, reported a 2.2% YoY growth in its December quarter standalone net profit to Rs 16,736 crore, slightly below ET NOW poll estimates. Net interest income grew 8% YoY,

India's HDFC Bank on Wednesday reported third-quarter profit in-line with analysts' estimates, as core lending income rose.

The private lender's total income, however, slipped 2.45 per cent to Rs 1,12,193.94 crore from Rs 1,15,015.51 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.

HDFC Bank posted QFY25 profit at Rs 16,735.50 crore, recording a growth of 2.22 per cent in comparison to Rs 16,372.54 crore reported during the same quarter of FY24.

Results: Gross Non-Performing Assets (Gross NPA) during the quarter stood at 1.42% from 1.36% in the previous quarter, while Net NPAs stood at 0.46% from 0.4% in the previous quarter.

The bank saw both net profit and income on interest drop year-on-year during the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25.

HDFC Bank is expected to record Q3 net profit at Rs 16,650 crore and NII is estimated at Rs 30,690 crore during the quarter in review.

The largest private bank in India, HDFC Bank Limited, announced its October to December quarter results on Wednesday, January 22. The institutional lender announced a 2.2% rise in net profit to ₹16,735.
