The Vancouver Canucks rejected a trade proposal from the New York Rangers earlier this season that would have swapped J.T. Miller for Mika Zibanejad in a one-for-one deal. The Athletic’s Josh Yohe reported the offer on Tuesday while Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman speculated the Rangers might have taken advantage of Miller's leave of absence in November to float the swap to the Canucks.

Drance: The Canucks reportedly would want a talented young center if they were to part with either Miller or Pettersson. The Rangers don’t exactly have a player that would match that description at the moment, although Filip Chytil could fit the bill as a secondary piece presumably.

Miller, who was drafted in the first round by the Rangers in 2011, spent parts of his first six NHL seasons in New York and as reported by Sportsnet hockey analyst Nick Kypreos, if Miller were to OK a trade out of British Columbia, a reunion on Broadway would be the exception.
