Attorney General Ken Paxton is making a third attempt at blocking the State Fair of Texas’ new policy that would stop most people from carrying guns at the 24-day event, which begins Friday. An appeals court denied Attorney General Ken Paxton's attempts to block a gun ban at the State Fair of Texas on Tuesday. The Court said it reviewed the motion and the briefing filed by both the state and fair and "denied the State's request for temporary relief and the State's alternative request for an administrative stay.

The last ditch appeal comes after two lower courts upheld a ban on firearms. The policy came in response to a shooting at last year’s fair.
