CROMWELL, Conn. — Jay Monahan is leaving the PGA Tour next year after a decade that ends with a league fractured by the Saudi riches of LIV Golf, turning it over to top NFL executive Brian Rolapp in a new role as CEO.

After officially hiring a longtime NFL executive as its CEO, the go-forward plan for the PGA Tour’s commissioner is coming into focus. According to a report by Josh Carpenter in Sports Business Journal,

The PGA Tour has just entered a new era, naming Brian Rolapp as its next CEO after a months-long search. Rolapp takes over from Jay Monahan, who helped lead the process to find his replacement and will stay on in a supporting role through 2026.

Jay Monahan will leave the PGA Tour as commissioner following the expiry of his contract at the end of 2026, and during his time in charge has built a good relationship with Rory McIlroy
