EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers clinched their Western Conference First Round series against the Los Angeles Kings with a 6-4 win in Game 6 at Rogers Place on Thursday, winning the final four games of the series after losing the first two. The Oilers have eliminated the Kings in the first round for four consecutive seasons.

The Kings had a 2-0 series lead and home-ice advantage, but they could not sustain that momentum and Edmonton won its fourth straight game, 6-4, to send them into another offseason of what-ifs.

Three of the six games in the series went into overtime, with Los Angeles winning two of those three contests. The series became tied at two games apiece, before Edmonton outscored Los Angeles 11-7 in the final two games. Stuart Skinner shined in net, saving 65 shots across Games 5 and 6.
