Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, is reportedly in discussions to acquire South Korean artificial intelligence semiconductor design startup FuriosaAI, according to Forbes and industry sources on Wednesday.

Seoul-based FuriosaAI was founded in 2017 and is led by June Paik, who previously worked at Samsung Electronics and AMD.

Meta's Q4 2024 results show a 21% YoY revenue increase and a 43% YoY operating income increase, with strong AI-driven growth. Read more about META stock here.
