Izzo, in his 30th season leading Michigan State, was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year on Tuesday. After guiding the Spartans to an outright conference championship three games clear of the field, both the coaches and media selected Izzo as the best in the league.

For the fourth time in his career, Tom Izzo has been named Big Ten Coach of the Year. Izzo earned the prestigious Big Ten honor on Tuesday, which was the first time he has won this award since 2012. He had previously won the award in 1998 and 2009 as well.

The Michigan State coach was voted Big Ten Coach of the Year, the conference announced Tuesday. Izzo coached the seventh-ranked Spartans (26-5, 17-3 Big Ten) to a Big Ten championship for a record-tying 11th time in his career this season.
