Heading into Week 2 of fall camp, Alabama football offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb said, initially, that reps for all three quarterbacks vying for the Crimson Tide’s starting spot would be “status quo.” Then Grubb mentioned a wrinkle to the overall quarterback battle between Ty Simpson , Austin Mack and Keelon Russell.

In Grubb's mind, physicality works in all shapes and sizes in an Alabama running back room that is returning its leading back in Miller, but for an offense that is losing its main performer in the ground game: quarterback Jalen Milroe.
