On Tuesday, December 31, 12-year-old Jack Murray went skiing on Cranmore Mountain in North Conway when he struck a tree, and later passed away from his injuries. It’s hard for Paul and the rest of the family to explain what they’re going through, but they are taking stock of how special Jack’s life was.

The boy apparently hit a tree while he was skiing on Cranmore’s Bandit trail on Tuesday morning, police said Thursday.

The 12-year-old was unconscious after he appeared to have struck a tree while skiing an intermediate trail, police said.
