Ukrainian air defence units shot down 25 missiles and 319 Shahed drones and jammed 258 other drones with electronic warfare, the air force said.

Russia launched a major drone and missile strike on Kyiv, killing two and injuring more than a dozen, prompting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to call for additional funding for interceptor drones and air defense systems and for stronger sanctions on Moscow.

The arrangement allows Ukraine to get weapons it needs in its war with Russia while providing a way for Europe to increase its defense spending as promised.
