Villanova University police on Friday night said they are investigating a reported rape of a female student by an Uber driver that occurred about a week ago.

Students on Villanova’s campus are on alert after a student tells officials she was raped by a rideshare driver.

School officials say it happened overnight on Sept. 13 inside the Commons residence hall complex. According to officials, the student reported that the Uber driver dropped her off outside her dorm before entering the building and assaulting her.

The student said she got an Uber to The Commons residence hall complex, where the driver followed her inside and raped her.
