Several law enforcement agencies are investigating a series of events that began with a carjacking in San Jose and stretched into San Benito County before returning toward San Jose.

A San Jose police officer was injured Wednesday after a shootout with an armed carjacking suspect, according to authorities.

Two people were arrested in Piedmont on Tuesday following a carjacking in Oakland with the help of an automated license plate reader and a neighborhood gate, police said.

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department said early Wednesday morning, officers spotted a car that was taken in a carjacking hours earlier.

The suspects are 14, 14 and 15, police said. They were taken to the Jackson County Juvenile Justice Center.
