Israel and Iran kept up their attacks, killing and wounding civilians and raising concern among world leaders at a G7 meeting in Canada this week that the biggest battle between the two old enemies could lead to a broader regional conflict.
Iran has reportedly been sending signals to Israel and the U.S. through Arab intermediaries as it looks to de-escalate the conflict and resume talks over the nuclear deals. However, an Al Jazeera journalist refuted the claim,
"Giving up entirely," Trump told reporters early on Tuesday. "Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, it's very simple." The air war between Iran and U.S. ally Israel - which began on Friday when Israel attacked Iran with airstrikes - has raised alarms in a region that had already been on edge since the start of Israel's military assault on Gaza in October 2023.
