Tropical Storm Bertha crawled into southern Louisiana on Wednesday, making landfall and packing strong winds far from its center after closing beaches from the Florida Panhandle to Mississippi.

Tropical Storm Bertha continues its slow westward creep across the northern Gulf, currently west of Louisiana with 50 mph winds.
