Dangerous cold and two rounds of snow are expected to hit the St. Louis region this weekend, with the second wave bringing the most significant impacts and total snowfall ranging from 4 to 8 inches.

St. Louis faces a winter storm with heavy snow and low wind chills as forecasted by the National Weather Service.

Below-freezing temperatures are expected to stick around through January and into early February, meaning any snow that falls could stay a while.

After a snowy Saturday, which brought 2-4 inches to much of the St. Louis region, another round of snow is set for Sunday. More snow is certainly on the way.

The current forecast has the metro St. Louis area getting 10 to 13 inches of snow, with areas north and south of the city getting less.
