The rematch of college football's game of the regular season failed to live up to the hype as No. 8 seed Ohio State took out its pent-up frustrations on top seed Oregon in a 41-21 victory in the Rose Bowl quarterfinal of the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State got the rematch it wanted against Oregon in the Rose Bowl, and made the most of its opportunity.  Will Howard threw three touchdowns, TreVeyon Henderson ran for two and Jeremiah Smith caught two as Ohio State routed Oregon 41-21 on Wednesday during the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl.

Ohio State led 31-0 midway through the second quarter as Oregon was simply overmatched. It was a remarkable sight; Oregon was the only team in college football to end the regular season without a loss and beat three playoff teams — including Ohio State in October — on the way to a Big Ten title.

In a rematch of one of the best games of the regular season, Ohio State left no doubt in dismantling No. 1 Oregon in the Rose Bowl.
