Underlining her status as a caretaker CM, she said in her first media address from the Chief Minister’s office that the chair belongs to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal.

AAP leader Atishi On Monday took charge as the eighth chief minister of Delhi and said she would work like Bharat did by keeping Lord Ram`s Khadun` (wooden slippers) on Ayodhya`s throne, PTI reported.

The newly appointed ministers in Atishi's government have taken charge of their respective departments at the Delhi Secretariat. They pledged to continue the work initiated by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

She did not sit on the chair used by Kejriwal and said that his chair would remain unoccupied in the chief minister's office. She sat on a white chair, which was placed next to Kejriwal's chair.

AAP leader Atishi Marlena assumed office as Delhi's Chief Minister on September 23, pledging to uphold Arvind Kejriwal's legacy. She symbolically placed an empty chair beside her own, drawing a parallel with Bharat from the Ramayana.
