OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has announced the launch of ChatGPT Agent, a new AI tool capable of performing complex digital tasks on behalf of users. The launch comes with a warning that it is an experimental and potentially risky step into the next frontier of artificial intelligence.

ChatGPT agent is available for Pro users now, with Plus and Team users following in the next few days. Enterprise and Edu tiers will get it in a matter of weeks.

"Watching chatgpt agent use a computer to do complex tasks has been a real 'feel the agi' moment for me; something about seeing the computer think, plan, and execute hits different," he wrote, using the acronym for Artificial General Intelligence, seen as the holy grail of AI development.
