A group of 10 Americans freed in a hostage exchange with Venezuela included a U.S. Navy sailor and a water sports fan, reports say. When contacted for comment, the U.S. State Department told Newsweek on Saturday that for privacy reasons, the individuals would not be identified nor their cases disclosed.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announces the release of 10 Americans who were detained in Venezuela, marking the return of all U.S. nationals previously held in the country.

The Americans were released in exchange for 252 Venezuelans the U.S. deported to El Salvador as part of the Trump administration's immigration crackdown.
