Amazon has announced a new service called AWS Certificate Manager, offering free SSL/TLS certificates for AWS resources.

On top of that, its AWS Certificate Manager, or ACM, enables AWS developers to provision and manage Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) certificates.

AWS Certificate Manager automates the registration and renewal of SSL/TLS certificates for AWS Elastic Load Balancers and Amazon CloudFront distributions.

If AWS has its own root Certificate Authority, AWS developers no longer have to visit a third-party certificate provider to purchase verified digital certificates.
