If you prefer the Android experience on your tablet on the go, but the desktop experience at a keyboard, you can install Android on your x86 tablet, dual boot, and get the best of both worlds.
There’s always the Android-x86 project for that. But the latest Intel optimizations feature an interactive installer, support for Windows 8 dual boot, and other improvements.
That means every time you boot your computer, you’ll have the option to choose which operating system to run. Right now the Remix OS for PC installer supports Windows 7 and later.
PC makers are increasingly pushing devices that dual-boot Android and Windows, and it appears that phone manufacturers will follow a similar path in the coming months.
And yes, you can install Android on your computer’s hard drive—but I don’t recommend even dual-booting this particular OS.
