LEGO did that this week when it announced a new kit called Boost which will allow builders to design and program their own robotic toys out of the popular plastic bricks.
Lego's codable Boost set arrives in time for summer fun The new collection features motors and programmable bricks that can turn regular Lego bricks into motorized or motion-sensitive toys.
Unlike Lego Mindstorms, the brick company's "expert" line, Lego Boost aims younger, at kids 7-12. (There's another kit, Lego WeDo, that's similar but education-targeted.).
