The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) plans to launch futures trading for XRP and Solana (SOL) on February 10, pending regulatory approval, according to a Jan. 22nd X post by Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart.
CME Group denies any decisions on XRP, Solana futures contracts, highlighting a website error and ongoing evaluations.
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s (CME) website hinted at the introduction of SOL (SOL) and XRP (XRP) futures contracts that could debut as early as Feb. 10, pending regulatory review. According to the website — which later removed the page — contracts for both assets will be available in standard and micro sizes,
CME plans to launch XRP Solana futures on February 10, offering standard and micro contracts for enhanced trading flexibility.
Solana's fall came after the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) said that it does not have a plan to begin offering futures for the token as an investment vehicle. The CME currently offers options trading for Bitcoin and Ethereum, and some investors have been hoping that options trading for Solana could help send its token price higher.
Grain futures were lower in early trading Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade. Mar. corn lost 2.75 cents at $4.87 a bushel. Mar. wheat fell by 4.5 cents at $5.50 a bushel. Mar.
