Sixteen seconds remained in the Boston Bruins’ third-period power play when Mika Zibanejad wound up as the beneficiary of a Morgan Geekie turnover. The Bruins and the New York Rangers were tied at two with just over eight minutes to play in regulation on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.

After a miscue by the Bruins power play, Zibanejad entered the zone two-on-one and fed a pass over to Chris Kreider who fired a shot from an angle to make it 3-2. The Bruins pulled the goalie for the extra skater, but it was not enough.

Chris Kreider scored a tiebreaking short-handed goal with 8:06 remaining as the host New York Rangers rallied again in the third period for a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night.
