The billionaire businessman ran against Trump for the GOP presidential nomination but has proved to be a loyal ally over the last year.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum will lead the Department of the Interior in the Trump administration, the president-elect announced.

Burgum, in his new role, will oversee a panel that crosses all executive branch agencies involved in energy permitting, production, generation, distribution, regulation and transportation.
