The team acquired reliever Jake Bird from the Rockies ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, The Post’s Jon Heyman reported. In exchange, the Yankees are shipping second base prospect Roc Riggio and left-handed pitching prospect Ben Shields to Colorado, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Before Thursday’s trade deadline closed, Colorado traded Bird to the Bronx for second baseman Roc Riggio and left-hander Ben Shields. Riggio was the Yankees’ No. 10 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, and Shields was their No. 29 prospect.

The Yankees added two right-handed reinforcements to the backend of their bullpen without dealing away any of their major prospects.
