The governor passed out candy to children to allay fears trick-or-treating children might have about ICE agents in their neighborhoods.

Gov. Pritzker is asking the federal government to give Illinois children and families "a break" and pause federal operations over Halloween weekend.

Volunteers plan to attend Halloween events in the Chicago area to warn residents of ICE and Border Patrol activity.

Pritzker, who has been consistently pushing back against the administration’s federal presence in Illinois, told reporters that he asked Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and the Department of Homeland Security to “pause all of their federal agents’ operations for the entirety of the Halloween weekend.”
