The hurricane brought heavy rain, widespread flooding and winds close to 100 miles an hour to the central and southeast Bahamas.
Melissa brough devestating impacts to the island, as of Wednesday evening 70% of the country is still without power. The worst of the impacts were closest to Melissa’s eye. The eastern side of the country suffered from minor damage from the storm.
