Eagles star and Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts was asked about what he thinks of recent NFL quarterback debates at Wednesday's training camp.

Jalen Hurts is just fine playing quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. It doesn't hurt that he's a defending Super Bowl champion, either. But there's another sport he wouldn't mind playing. Phillies fans may have perked up a bit at that.

"I expect to win back Defensive Player of the Year," the Cleveland Browns pass-rusher told reporters Wednesday while also revealing he expects to win the Super Bowl. "Keeping both those things in mind, I have to be the very best player I can be every single day, whether we're practicing or playing."

For training camp in 2025, that day is August 26. By 4 p.m. ET on August 26, every team must employ only 53 players. That means there will be a huge wave of players getting released in the lead-up to the final hour.

Outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter is retiring from the NFL, the Titans announced Tuesday. They will place him on the leagues' reserve/retired list. Carter signed with the Titans in the offseason. He spent the past three seasons with the Falcons.
