No school: Palm Beach County calls off classes for Thursday ahead of Hurricane Helene
The school district announced the closure and cancellation of Thursday's classes and after-school activities at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Palm Beach joins nearby Martin and St. Lucie Counties in calling off classes.

Palm Beach County was put under a tropical storm warning early Wednesday morning as Helene nears hurricane strength on its trek into the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. A tropical storm warning means tropical-storm-force winds are expected within the next 36 hours.
