President Vladimir Putin on Thursday refused to discuss the possibility that Israel and the United States would kill Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and said the Iranian people were consolidating around the leadership in Tehran.

Iran hasn't asked Moscow for military assistance during its conflict with Israel, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday. He said that the strategic partnership agreement between Moscow and Tehran doesn't cover such military help.

Speaking to senior news leaders of international news agencies, Putin noted that “it's a delicate issue,” but added that “in my view, a solution could be found.”
