Russian leader Vladimir Putin has held a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov has confirmed. The two leaders discussed the situation in Iran and arranged to meet in China in late August or early September.

The leaders also expressed a shared position on the conflict, with both Russia and China condemning Israel's recent military actions. They criticised what they described as violations of the United Nations Charter and international legal norms.
