The president told correspondent Norah O’Donnell that Democratic foe Kamala Harris “failed because she couldn’t speak” and was not “very intelligent.” He pointed to the former vice president’s interview with the CBS’s news show as an example.

The president appeared on the newsmagazine Sunday night, one year after suing the CBS show over the editing of a Kamala Harris interview — and he was well aware that his answers would similarly be trimmed for time.

The comment did not make it into the final cut of the CBS broadcast — thought it was included in the extended “Overtime” version on YouTube.
