Most recently, the Stars were defeated by the Edmonton Oilers in six games in the 2024 Western Conference Final. It was a series in which Dallas took two of the first three games from Edmonton before seeing its offense completely go stagnant with just four goals over the final three games.

For the second straight year, the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars will meet in the Conference Final. Both teams look slightly different on paper compared to last year.

The 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs field is down to the final four. The Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers face off in a rematch of the 2023 Eastern Conference finals, while the Western Conference finals are a return bout from 2024 between the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers.
