The Boston Red Sox today announced the following roster moves: - Selected outfielder Roman Anthony to the active Major League roster from Triple-A Worcester. He will wear number 48. - Placed outfielder Wilyer Abreu on the 10-Day Injured List with a left oblique strain.
Roman Anthony gets a positive sign he'll remain in the Major Leagues once Wilyer Abreu is called up, based on the Boston Red Sox moving his locker to a more permanent spot.
So he will need to be added to the active roster soon. He is targeting Friday (Sept. 6), although that now seems unlikely as the Red Sox want him to throw back-to-back days before he’s activated.
