The Oscars are not canceled and there are no plans to move the March 2 event despite the devastation of the California wildfires, according to senior members of the Academy, who shut down a viral tabloid story about the show’s supposed cancelation from The Sun.

This brings the nonprofit organization's total contributions to the Motion Picture & Television Fund over the past week to $1 million.

She lauded the list of nominations, particularly its variety, noting that six different genres were represented on the best film list. She also highlighted that 14 of the 24 nominations in the acting categories were first-timers, and that whoever wins the best actress award will be a first-time BAFTA winner.

Surprises And Snubs: Only five actors are nominated in the Oscars and Screen Actors Guild's acting categories, while the BAFTAs nominate six in each.

"Conclave" receives 12 nominations for the BAFTA Film Awards, followed by "Emilia Perez" with three. The British Oscars will be held Feb. 16.
