The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation on Wednesday announced 14 performer nominees for its 2025 induction, and four artists of color were among them. The artists of color include pop icon and R&B singer Mariah Carey, hip-hop duo Outkast, Rock and Roll singer and dancer Chubby Checker, and and Mexican pop rock band Maná.

Mariah Carey, Chubby Checker, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast and Phish are some the 2025 nominees for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a list that also includes two sets of musical brothers who have had public feuds and recent reunions — the Black Crowes and Oasis.

Finalists will be announced Friday as part of All-Star Weekend’s festivities, and could include big names such as Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Sue Bird, and former Sixers coach Doc Rivers.

Mariah Carey is hoping that the this time it's for real. The singer celebrated her second nomination to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Thursday (Feb. 13), writing on Instagram that she was "so grateful" to be given a nod two years running;
