Kirby Yates’ frustrating season has hit its latest hurdle, as the Los Angeles Dodgers veteran reliever was placed on the injured list with lower back pain Friday. Manager Dave Roberts told reporters in Tampa, Fla., that Yates was dealing with a pelvic issue. Yates went back to Los Angeles for further testing.

Right-handers Brock Stewart and Paul Gervase were added to the roster on Friday, but Yates went back to Los Angeles to have a lower back problem examined.
