Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton says it was "heartbreaking" to watch his club trade away almost 40 percent of the roster ahead of the 2025 MLB trade deadline, per Bobby Nightengale of the Minnesota Star Tribune.

All told, the Twins made nine deals this week, sending out 10 major-league players, which represented nearly 40% of their roster. Among them, star shortstop Carlos Correa waived his no-trade clause to return to the Houston Astros in the team’s most shocking move at the deadline.

Every time Byron Buxton picked up his phone Thursday afternoon, there was a text message or news ping that one of his Minnesota Twins teammates was being traded.
