Oklo , a U.S. company hoping to build micro nuclear power plants, said on Wednesday the energy logistics agency of the Defense Department has issued a notice of intent to award a power purchase agreement for a pilot reactor.

The deal, still subject to permitting, would allow Oklo to build and operate its Aurora powerhouse reactor at Eielson Air Force Base. The company will design, own, and run the facility once approved.

The nuclear power is tentatively awarded a contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to supply nuclear energy to Eielson Air Force Base.
