The nominees for the best of the worst of cinema – the awards known as the Razzies – were released Tuesday, and the oft-derided “Joker” sequel led the pack.

Razzie Awards nominations are in, "led" by 'Borderlands,' 'Joker: Folie a Deux.' 'Madame Web,' 'Megalopolis' and 'Reagan'

Joker: Folie à Deux leads the Razzie Awards noms, which recognize the worst movies and performances of the year, with a total of seven mentions. Borderlands, Madame Web, Megalopolis and Reagan followed with six noms apiece, it was announced Tuesday. Unfrosted landed with four noms, while The Crow nabbed two noms.

This year’s Academy Award nominations are set to be announced Thursday, after being delayed due to the devastating Los Angeles fires. As such, the annual Golden Raspberry Awards got to get ahead of the Oscars on Tuesday with their own crop of nominees,

The Razzie Awards spread the “wealth” this year, with five movies receiving a leading six nominations apiece, including in the unfortunate Worst Picture race: Borderlands, Joker: Folie à Deux, Madame Web,

But also in the mix with a chance to take home the "$4.97 gold spray-painted" statuette is 2024 videogame adaptation Borderlands, which has earned six Razzie nominations—and that includes some special attention for its chatty little robot Claptrap.

"Joker: Folie a Deux" was nominated for seven Razzies on Tuesday, leaving the sad clown atop the annual tongue-in-cheek list of the worst movies of the year.
