Ozzy Osbourne never wanted a tearful goodbye. The Prince of Darkness, as infamous for his dirty sense of humor as for his uncontrolled personality, demanded that his funeral be a party-like affair, and somehow, even after death, got his way.

Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, who previously played in Ozzy Osbourne’s solo band in the early 2000s, shared details about the late rocker’s private funeral in England on July 30.

The musicians reconnected more in the last couple of years, with Trujillo contributing to Ozzy's last album Patient Number 9 (2022). He also performed with Ozzy when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist in late 2024.
