A fter a long wait, Stanford has officially hired their new athletic director. Back on February 24th, the Cardinal’s former AD, Bernard Muir, elected to step down after 13 years in his role. Muir had been the name during numerous national championships in differing sports, as well as their football “prime years.”

Stanford has hired former Nike CEO John Donahoe as its new athletic director, marking a shift from a more traditional hire to one with extensive business experience rather than just a typical sports administration background.
