United Airlines confirmed that Flight 2428 had to suddenly slow its descent to San Francisco International Airport “to account for another aircraft at a lower altitude”

The United Airlines Boeing 757 slowed its descent into San Francisco to avoid another plane, causing two passengers to be taken to hospital.

The San Francisco-bound plane was alerted near Oakland, Calif., that another aircraft was in the vicinity, but it was able to land safely. The FAA is investigating.
